The Irish Farmers Journal are holding their beef and sheep open day on their demonstration farm just outside Tullamore (R35AT81) on Tuesday 23 July from 10.30am-5pm. 

The farm is home to an 80 cow suckler herd and 250 mid-season ewe lambing flock, and the full flock and suckler herd performance over the last number of years will be on display on the day.

According to the Irish Farmer’s Journal, a number of changes that have taken place on the farm will be covered, including a move to using 100% AI, introduction of sexed semen, new heat detection technology, weight performance, financial analysis and much more.

Gates open at 10.30am and there will be workshops and demonstrations throughout the day, as well as a trade exhibition area and exhibitor stands.

ICBF will have a stand on the day and will be on hand to answer any questions.
