Do you intend to breed your own replacement females to meet the October 2020 BDGP female requirement? Participating herds will need to ensure that they have 50% of their reference number in eligible 4 or 5-star females on 31st Oct 2020.
The 15th September 2018 will mark the latest date to breed cows to have females born in time to meet the 31st October 2020 replacement requirement.
Heifers will have to be 16 months of age or older in order to have a chance of qualifying on 31st October 2020. This means that farmers will need to breed cows to high index bulls before 15th September 2018 in order to have resulting heifers old enough by 31st October 2020.
