The November 2022 Evaluation will be published on 22nd November. The final date to have any DNA samples (hair/tissue/AI straws returned to ICBF to have genomic evaluation published in November, is 31st August.
DNA Samples
Any outstanding hair sample kits already on farm should also be returned. New orders can be placed by logging into your HerdPlus account on www.icbf.com. Alternatively, hair card orders can be processed over the phone. Once ordered, hair sample kits will be posted immediately to the herdowner.
AI Straws
It is very important that AI bulls are genotyped asap. ICBF will not issue an AI code for any bull unless a genotype has been received into the database. AI bulls can be genotyped via semen. How to order a Genotype online?
Genotype kits can be ordered by logging into your HerdPlus account. Once logged in, go to Services > Genomic Services.
From here you can choose between genotyping individual animals or genotyping a group of animals (dairy only). By choosing Genotyping Female Group dairy farmers can choose to genotype all their 2020, 2021 or 2022 born heifers. Alternatively, by choosing Genotyping Individual Animals the herdowner can pick and choose individual animals from the whole herd to genotype.
After doing so, you will be promp0ted to Save Changes and Checkout. You will then be prompted to pay via Visa or Mastercard.
Once paid for, genotype hair kits will be generated and sent to the farm in the following days, including a return envelope. For members of beef HerdPlus it costs €22/head to genotype males and females. For members of dairy HerdPlus it costs €22/head for dairy females and €50/head for dairy Males.
