ICBF has just launched a new profile which will allow herdowners to view animals moved in and out of their herd. Users can select a date range and view the animals moved in/out in that period. Insemination data is significant for the purpose of genetic evaluations for fertility & gestation lengths. This includes whether the cow repeats or holds to that service.
The Active Beef Bull Lists show the highest ranked Beef AI Sires on the ‘Replacement’ & ‘Terminal’ indexes that have semen widely available, based on the March 2021 genetic evaluations computed by ICBF. (more…)

Enda and Kevin Moloney operate a pedigree Limousin herd under the ‘Fermoyle’ prefix, situated outside Broadford, Co Clare. The herd consists of 16 pedigree Limousin cows, 8 commercial cows and 11 pedigree young bulls. Their main market for the pedigree bulls produced on the farm is suckler herds. For this reason, there is an emphasis placed on both the Replacement and Terminal Index. (more…)
