Applications are now open for the 2025 HerdPlus Graduate Programme. Successful candidates will be offered an exciting opportunity to join our world leading organisation for a twelve-month period, commencing in Summer/Autumn 2025.

Our core strength at ICBF is our people and the HerdPlus Graduate Programme is a key element in expanding our high calibre talent base. ICBF employ approximately 120 people and have over 25 years of history in Ireland. We currently have over 25,000 dairy and beef farmers subscribed to HerdPlus, our comprehensive breeding information service.

What’s on offer?

We are looking for two graduates to join our hard working and innovative team in our newly opened, state of the art offices in Ballincollig, Co. Cork. Throughout the programme, you will learn and develop a broad skillset in an open, supportive and collaborative environment. You will be working directly with farmers and industry experts to deliver results that will make a financial impact for our farmers and the wider agricultural sector. You will get the opportunity to work alongside a top-class team on a variety of projects across the beef and dairy sectors.

Our aim is that you will gain invaluable experience over the twelve months, which will enable you to excel in your career, along with the possibility of a long-term position within the organisation based on your performance during the programme.

Our ideal candidate must:

  • Be self-motivated

  • Have good computer skills
  • Hold a 3rd level degree in Ag. Science or equivalent
  • Have a keen interest in cattle breeding

We are currently seeking a Receptionist/Administrator for our office in Ballincollig. In this full time role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

 

The main duties will include the following:

 

• Reception responsibilities and administrative support.
• Maintain a consistent and high quality of customer service when interacting with employees, contractors and visitors.
• General administration duties including correspondence, photocopying, scanning, phone calls etc.
• Assist with transactions e.g. processing Purchase Orders, reconciling invoices and where applicable, weekly banking.
• Maintenance of office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
• Maintain filing and archive system.
• Booking meetings, events and associated requirements.

Our Candidate Requirements:

 

• High proficiency in MS Office including Word & Excel.
• Attention to detail is key and a careful and accurate approach is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a busy office environment.
• Excellent communication skills and professional telephone manner.
• Comfortable working in a busy, team based environment.
• Self-motivated, a willingness to participate and add to our friendly and warm culture where employee engagement is key.
• Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
